ABOUT ADVANCEMENT DAY
Our annual Advancement Day will be held on Saturday, February 8 at OGUMC. This is a great way for Scouts to select one or two new Merit Badges they wish to work on as the new year kicks off. We will also be running our excellent Orienteering course for any Scouts that need that requirement. For Scouts working on rank advancement (Scout - First Class), our ASM Help Desk will be open (in the morning only) to check off requirements. Be sure to come prepared with your handbook and a list of requirements you would like to complete. The weekend will conclude with Scout Sunday February 9 at OGUMC.
What to Bring
Scout Handbook and pencil/pen
Lunch, snacks, full water bottle
Any documentation your Merit Badge counselor may have asked for prior to the class
Rain gear in a day bag (just in case)
What to Know
Registration for Merit Badge classes closed on Tuesday, February 4. Classes will be limited to 12 Scouts per class with some exceptions.
Registration is not required for our ASM Help Desk - Scouts may drop by any time during the morning hours published below.
Merit Badge counselors will reach out prior to Advancement Day with any pre-assignments. Ensure you prioritize these and complete what is requested to make the most of your (and their) time during the day.

• (Begins 11:15) Scholarship Merit Badge with Mrs. Henderson
10:05 - 11:30 Orienteering Course w/ Mr. Henderson (After a brief classroom setting, each Scout runs the course at their own pace).
12:30 ASM Help Desk Closes
12:30 - 1:00 Lunch (Bring Your Own Meal and Water)
1:00 - 3:00 Afternoon Merit Badge Classes:
• Citizenship in the World Merit Badge with Mr. Brewer
• Collections Merit Badge with Mr. Burek
• Cooking Merit Badge (Requirement 5) with Mr. Leff (May Run Until 4:00)
1:00 - 4:00 PLC Meeting (Required for Patrol Leaders and Senior Patrol)
Scouts are dismissed after their afternoon class or PLC meeting ends

Sunday, February 9 - Scout Sunday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church - FULL CLASS A UNIFORM
9:30 AM - 10:45 AM: Scouts meet & greet and help serve cobbler (Grand Hall)
11:00 AM: Traditional Worship Service (Sanctuary)
